New Read - Little Witch Academia (Series)

Last week on vacation I read my new copies of the Little Witch Academia manga. For those who have never seen the anime from Studio Trigger, it follows Akko, a teenage girl who is not from a witch family, going to school to learn magic. She's super excited and comes blindly from outside of witch culture.

It's a fish out of water story. It's a story of never giving up. It's also very fun.

The manga adapts much of the anime directly with some minor additions. It's also written largely episodically, much like the anime.

Ah yes, there it is. The appearance of Little Witch Academia in Space Patrol Luluco which is one of my favorite parts of the series. Self-crossovers are the kind of thing I expect from CLAMP, but seeing TRIGGER do it too is just as fun.

In other anime observations, being much more knowledgable about Studio TRIGGER now than I was the first couple of times I watched Space Patrol Luluco, the hyperkinetic nature of the series is easily explained by being directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, who was responsible for KILL la KILL before and PROMARE after. It's completely in line with his style, which I do enjoy!
