@dasaweb zweifach?

I was just listening to "Strong Songs", one of my favorite podcasts, but it was re-airing an episode of "Aria Code", a podcast I haven't heard before, about single opera arias.

This half hour episode from 2021 is looking at Nessum Dorma, intersecting it tightly with vignettes by an ICU doctor describing moments from the first year of the pandemic. It's very much worth a listen - uplifting, emotional, hopeful. Vincero!

“Nessun Dorma” has long been opera’s crossover hit. But in the last year, it’s become something more -- an anthem of hope.

I listened to the episode of Strong Songs about the music of Star Wars: Andor. Wow. Now I'm watching the show again, just to listen to the music.

S04E21 - The Music of Star Wars: Andor

Look, sometimes a TV soundtrack is so good that you have no choice but to make a whole podcast episode about it. And so here we are, as Kirk takes a deep dive into Nicholas Britell's ever-evolving musical score for the new Disney+ show Star Wars: Andor. Listen to Britell's Andor Score (via Songwhip): Volume One | Volum

Strong Songs

Emotional episode of the podcast #strongSongs recently, titled “A Song for my Father”

The title is in reference to the Horace Silver jazz standard but the story he tells is about his dad, a drummer in a band in the 60s, who died recently. He interviews a few of the bandmates and gets some further details about the band

I don’t have musical parents but when he said “my dad was my first audience member”, I do feel that sentiment

A podcast very much worth checking out:

I love a good deep dive on the intricacies of a song and Kirk Hamilton takes these amazing musical plunges.

I cleaned two bathrooms and vacuumed an entire house during the entirety of his journey through Billy Joel’s “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant”..

It's been quite a few years since I dug a not-specifically-Jazz musical act that featured #saxophone (probably since Morphine) but the #TheCometIsComing guys figured it out: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/the-comet-is-coming/1045660815

Solid 🎷🥁🎛️ blend. Thanks to Kirk Hamilton of the #StrongSongs podcast for introducing it to my ears.
