#StrangerSocial We have done some tuning this weekend to speed up the server web UI. Any feedback on UI performance would be extremely helpful.

If you are a power user and know how to check your browser console for errors, please let me know if you are seeing any rate-limit errors.

We are seeing a lot of propaganda bot activity. Accounts posting "news" in English and Ukrainian. We have suspended 8 accounts in the last 48 hours; I'm sure there are more. If you see this activity on #StrangerSocial, please report it. #mastoadmin

#StrangerSocial Sorry for the downtime, friends. Thanks for your patience. We are reconnected to the fediverse. The server is busy resyncing. We fixed a ton of duplicate entries in the accounts database. Enough, we shouldn't need to go offline to fix the rest. The current fixes should help alleviate many of the errors we see on the backend and help with performance.

Because the maintenance is consuming all of the drive bandwidth, the server is currently operating very slowly. I've taken steps to ensure that the local timeline functions. You can also be heard by those who are not on the server. But at this moment, we are unable to hear them. Okay #StrangerSocial 🤖 We are done with the database maintenance. All service are running. We are running a backup to tidy things up. Private Mentions appear to be working again. We reclaimed over 50GB of storage space in the database, which is huge! And we moved the database to a faster drive to improve performance. Thank you for your patience. 🤠 đŸŒĩ

#StrangerSocial We have made some changes to the server to increase the connections to the database. This is to fix an issue where the server would become unresponsive during peak operations. Mastodon has also been updated to 4.5.3.
