And the local neighborhood fireworks have begun. I was wondering if my new home would have such “delights”. I was really hoping it wouldn’t. If I’m lucky it won’t be more than the light pops I’m hearing now rather than the fucking mortars near my last place.
The fight or flight response was strong in me last night. But i could close the windows, hide behind the tripple-layered glass and turn up our white noise machine, while my friends, the birds, foxes, beavers, deer out there, had to endure the loud explosions of these senseless nationalistic fireworks until late in the night.
Not far from here live Ukranian refugees in stacked metal containers,, who fled here from a war. How jumpy must they have been last night?
