A long day for the Rudel. During the morning walk, Jini, my colleague’s dog, took on the role of the office dog, and then we drove across the Alb again to visit the chronicler’s father at the nursing home. A good visit. A quick coffee at the chronicler’s sister’s place and a walk in a meadow near Bad Schussenried, then another hour on the country road, and now the Rudel is very, very tired. Still, a lovely day.

Somehow, spring seems to be a time of busy schedules, new beginnings, and activity. In any case, the Rudel is sniffing around more curiously and seems generally happier. That’s nice.
And tomorrow, we’re all heading back across the Alb to visit the Chroniclers dad.

Today, the evening sun and a gusty east wind engaged in an exciting duel. There was no winner, but the Rudel clearly benefited because it was a wonderful walk. Before that, Éclaire had had a tough day at the office because the kids from the children’s choir are always so happy when they get to pet a dog. To unwind, we then went to the friendly Greek restaurant to round out the day. A lovely day.

The workweek has started again for the chronicler, which made the evening walk with the pack all the more enjoyable. The grass is doing what it does best: growing over everything. And soon it will be growing over the dogs, too. A beautiful day.

A long and lovely day. In the morning, we played with Ronja and went for a long walk through the woods and across the meadow. In the evening, the Rudel was a bit lazy, but they really enjoyed the sunshine and all the different smells.

What a beautiful day. Just a typical Sunday. We went for a long morning walk, and in the evening we were out with William, who’s a little idiot. He ran off, so we had to go look for him in the woods—which resulted in picking up about 30 ticks—but we found him, and the Rudel was happy to find him.

After covering so many kilometers yesterday, we kicked off the more relaxed part of the weekend today. At least for the dogs—the chronicler has started a bit of spring cleaning. All in all, everyone is tired but happy with the day.

Another trip across the Swabian Alb (Lichtenstein Castle) to the edge of the Allgäu, where the chronicler’s father is currently in a nursing home. He’s doing reasonably well—that’s the most important thing—but the Rudel also had a lovely day out. Still, it’s nice that we all have a long weekend now.

Phew. Another exhausting day, but an hour out with the Rudel made up for it all. And, as @fonecokid always says with his adorable little dogs, the weekend is just around the corner. We could all really use that.
