My (old-school, non-Fediverse) #blog used Disqus for reader comments on posts.

Disqus was 👍 10 years ago, but today it litters posts with ads, heavily tracks users and nearly forces them to log in, so I switched to #Staticman by @eduardoboucas

Needed a bit of hacking, but old comments were migrated (including a bunch that were not showing up); they show up instantly, with no ads, no tracking and no sign-in; (tiny and local) JavaScript only required to write new ones! ❤️

Asking folks doing web-dev: do you know of an easy, FOSS way to implement a simple rudimentary commenting system in a gatsbyjs blog ? I have tried staticman (https://staticman.net/) which has a perfect workflow for my needs, but found it very hard to configure given my hobbyist skill level.

I wanted to avoid rolling my own, but perhaps that is the best way to go? Thoughts?
