Medi-Cal is stupid and gonna get itself sued for wrongful deaths by saying if you're not on insulin you only need to test your blood sugar level 1x/day - and making that a HARD limit. Like you cannot get that changed, no matter what your docs write the rx for it will only be filled as 1x/day.

Insulin controlled diabetes is not the only reason you might be checking that more than once a day, Medi-Cal.

Pre-diabetes? T2 diabetes? Hypo- or hyperglycemia? Personally I think if you're on a GLP1 med (ozempic, wegovy, zepbound, etc) you 100% should be watching your blood sugar, whether you're using it for diabetes or weight control or what. I'm blanking out but I know there are probably other reasons.

Like.... 1x/day does not give you a proper trend for ANYONE.

For fuck sake Medi-Cal.
