CarolynThis church had bad luck with fires. This is take number 4; the previous version having burnt down in the great Toronto fire of 1849. "An international architectural competition was held to replace it, drawing eleven entries from Canada and the United States." -- wiki
They chose a gothic revival, and the church opened in 1853.
It is a beautiful area, as you can see.
