The worst part of being involved in Youth Sports, isn't the kids...
Sigh.
My wife coaches our daughters youth soccer team, U13 level. I assist her. its really her thing, I'm just there to carry the equipment, help her setup drills, and wrangle the kids.
This spring season has been horrible. The kids have been great. I mea absolutely great. We were given barely enough to field a team by our club, just to find out later in the season that the other U13 team not only has more players, but they are primarily players from a travel league that dual-rostered with our club for the extra field time.
So we spent the entire season fighting to get enough players to actually compete, to show up to a game, and the kids, man, they did spectacular. I don't think we've ever had a team that built this level of a team bond. They played well, they communicated, joked with each-other, i mean, they were a great bunch of kids.
But then the board of our own club saw to it that we didn't have enough players to compete in the end of year tournament. Instead of working together to try to filed two teams, they suggest that we just send our players to play for the other, already stacked, team. Essentially taking our team away from us, and handing it to the other coach.
And now today. We're playing our last normal game of the season, which we'd hoped to go out with a nice fun game for our team to enjoy since a lot of them have decided they will -not- be playing for another coach in the tournament.. No. we get a ref with an attitude that cuts our best player out of the game, and makes another one cry because he asked what happened. Then she tries to eject my wife after she questioned the call.
No. The worst part of being involved in youth sports isn't the kids. Its a goddamn adults.

zimpenfishI guess the leniency towards Chelsea tells us how little punishment City are going to get for their much more egregious financial cheating over a longer period.
i.e. a slap on the wrist and no consequences.
(Chelsea could at least claim some mitigation because it was the previous regime; City have no such claim.)

who makes the fancy graphics for the high school kids who are announcing their invitations to play for univeristy football teams? Some of them are simple, but many involve graphics and some decent (but not extreme) photoshop skills.
