Yoo-hoo we received our new #SpikeGadgets order!!
It has all we need to do 128ch and 32ch wired or wireless recordings!!
For context this is in my new lab at the #UniversityOfGlasgow (apparently we might be the only ones in the UK to use SpikeGadgets ?!?!) with Roddy Grieves as PI! Our lab name is #NeuroeSC for #Neuroethology and #SpatialCognition 😁
@susanleemburg how many channels do you need? If 32 or less you might want to check out the #SpikeGadgets mini logger
https://spikegadgets.com/products/minilogger-32/
Oh apparently the battery lasts just 70 min so… probably not what you’re looking for
@biogeo thanks for the details - very interesting!
The neurologger I know of is the #SpikeGadgets one and it records 128ch of high res LFP (unfiltered) so you can get spikes from that using any kind of filtering + spike detection. But it is not compatible with MRI. They also have one for Neuropixels probes but I haven’t tried it.
You might have more luck asking your question on the #NeuroMethods slack (https://neuromethods.slack.com/) - let me know if you need an invite!
Hey neuro folks,
In case this is useful to anyone, we have made a python package to convert raw data from Spikegadgets' trodes system to NWB files: https://github.com/LorenFrankLab/trodes_to_nwb
This will directly read the .rec and associated files and convert them to the NWB format (no intermediate files). It will also check the NWB file at the end for compatibility for upload to the DANDI archive.
Thanks to Samuel Bray and Ryan Ly for doing a lot of the work on this.
