@jik in any halfway-regulated place (i.e. #Germany) any #Coldcalling without explicit written consent is illegal and #Spamcalling as well as #Scamming is being ruthlessly combatted by regulators ( @BNetzA In this case) who literally terminate violating #PhoneNumbers within minutes of them being reported.

@maco @landley They can however revoke allocations of phone numbers, cuz if the FCC can't do what @BNetzA does within minutes, then maybe one should question what they are good for.

  • Obviously the scammers don't do VoIP going "direct IP" (Since that not only scales poorly, would limit their targets down to 0,01% but would get them on blocklists very quickly...

  • Wär's nicht €50 p.m. teurer würd' ich mir für Anrufe und SMS nen Iridium-Telefon zulegen, denn +8816 ist für #SpamCalling zu teuer!

So oder so: Wo ein Wille ist, ist ein Weg und ich hab mich 32 Jahre für Neurotypicals verbogen - das sehe ich nicht mehr ein und hätte ich schon vor 16 gänzlich sein lassen müssen...
