Donald Byrd - Blackjack

Approaching the 70s, starting to transition away from hard bop, Byrd (trumpet) is joined by Sonny Red (alto), Hank Mobley (tenor), Cedar Walton (piano), Walter Booker (bass), and Billy Higgins (drums).

Things start off in a distinctive *groove* with the title tune, one of the two Byrd pieces, then head off into more "standard" hard bop.
