Sweet Honey Bee is an album by American jazz pianist and composer Duke Pearson, released on the Blue Note label in 1967. The woman on the cover was Pearson's fiancee Betty.

The Penguin Guide review says: "the highlights are the lushly voiced melodies of 'Sudel' and 'Gaslight', the former a tune which Pearson had recorded some years earlier with a different group. Hubbard and Henderson eat up their solo opportunities without sundering the essentially easy-going feel which was [a] Pearson trademark, and while not all the material is up to this standard, as a showcase for the pianist as writer and group-leader, this is surely the best thing available at present [2004].

Shades of Redd is an album by American pianist Freddie Redd recorded in 1960 and released on the Blue Note label.

The Allmusic review by Michael G. Nastos stated: "In an all too small discography, Freddie Redd's Shades of Redd is without a doubt his crowning achievement... his zenith as a jazz musician, would be a wonderful addition to any collection, and shows that the lesser known musicians have plenty of music to play, in addition to a unique perspective aside from the giants of this music" - Wikipedia

In his review for AllMusic, Stephen Thomas Erlewine says, "Walter Davis Jr.'s debut record as a leader for Blue Note is a terrific hard bop session, a driving collection of six original tunes that emphasize the strengths not only of the pianist himself, but also his supporting band... It all adds up to a wonderful straight-ahead hard bop date.." - Wikipedia
