At 12:58am on Thursday morning, September 11 of 2025, the CHP, Ventura County Fire Department, and AMR paramedics were dispatched to a crash in the area of the 118 Highway and Bradley Road in Somis.
VC Fire was reporting that a semi truck had struck a pole, bringing down power lines. While units were still in route, a second crash in the area involving a Toyota Corolla was also reported.
Just minutes after the first two crashes, an additional semi truck passing through the area was reported to have become tangled, dragging power lines along with it, according to the CHP website.
People were advised to stay in their vehicles out of caution for the power lines. No major injuries were reported. Edison was requested to expedite their response to shut down the lines so firefighters could make access.
CHP conducted traffic control for a hard closure on the 118 Highway in both directions around the incident. Tow trucks were requested for the vehicles.
