For years I thought the racist part of "Christian Zionist" was in the "Christian" part.
Spending time at the gate at the #UofT #SolidarityEncampent certainly corrected that belief.
A pretty scathing assessment of the UofT encampment:

I didn't take part, so I can't really speak to it. I'd be curious to hear from those who did
Today at the rally for the #SolidarityEncampent at #UofT, a person arrived flying the red and black anarcho-communist flag. Almost immediately, a handful of participants descended on him to ask what the flag was—they seemed genuinely unfamiliar with it. The new arrival's explanation seemed to satisfy the group, so they went back to doing what they were doing before.
They cared what flags were flying at the rally.
So, when reactionary demonstrations have fascist flags—nazi flags, confederate flags, etc.— it's because the people there either want to be associated with them or don't care.
Yesterday, I tried to enter a #UofT building to use the bathroom—I teach at the University, and the building in question is usually open to the public. I was greeted by a security guard who told me that access was restricted "because of the protest." I eventually had to show my ID to get in.
The administration's actions have caused far more restrictions on campus than the #SolidarityEncampent has.
