The #CUPE3902 membership just approved a motion to organize a defense of the People's Circle if the cops try to clear it.
The motion survived an attempt by a few members to send it to referendum rather than vote on it in a meeting.
My union #cupe3902 just voted to endorse a statement in solidarity with the #SolidarityEncampment at UofT.
The #UofT president #MericGertler just issued an ultimatum to the #PeoplesCircle
The Admin's response to the demands:
1) #Divest: Students can petition the Board
2) #Disclose: Strike a Working Group
3) #CutTies with Israeli institutions: Fuck no.
And at the bottom:
> The encampment must end. Our approach remains guided by our effort to balance our shared
values, people’s foundational rights and freedoms, and a desire for a peaceful resolution. We
hope that the representatives will accept our offer. Should an agreement not be reached, the
University will take further action.
