The #digitalretropark in Offenbach, Germany has one of only a few remaining east-german Arcade machines.
This particular one was probably destined for export to Czechoslovakia, since all text is in Czech.

They also have a #Sol20 on display - the computer with a wooden case.

#retrocomputingmx #SOL20 #efemeridestecnologica

1/2: The revived #SOL20 is almost done. I've added a #ProcessorTechnology 32KRA DRAM memory card (one of the last, rarest, and best designed of their S-100 cards). Of the original 32x 4108 DRAM chips in it, only 3 were still working. But since every bank should have identical chips, I'll be replacing them all with 4116s (150ns). For now I could populate only one bank, but new chips are on the way. (Continued)
2: ...I'm having new wooden side panels made, the PSU is fully rebuilt, and now only the keyboard and memory card are needing restoration, besides the iron chassis, which I'll tackle this weekend. @homecomputermuseum #SOL20 #ProcessorTechnology #SolTerminalComputer #FirstHomeComputer @homecompmuseum

"The Daydreamer" - a short movie about Lee Felsenstein who was one of the initiators of the #HomeComputer era in the late 60s and hat built the #Sol20 and the #Osborne1 computers:

I have a #SOL20 with two third-party daughterboards replacing various chips on the main board. One is a Z80 upgrade, and the other allows switching between stock 64-column and enhanced 80-column display. Unfortunately there is no surviving documentation for either board. I'd like to reverse-engineer them, but I doubt that I'll ever find time.
This #SOL20 just arrived. The electronics look OK. Side panel missing entirely, as well as metal case. But it comes with lots of rare cards! This will be whole again, and restored to mint condition.
This battered #SOL20 is a true survivor, and it's arriving at the Attic soon. Hopefully, by the end of the year, it will be looking brand new and 100% functional. I am also going to restore and assemble a second #SOL20 from bits & pieces already acquired from different sources. So two more back to life in the coming months!
And the #SOL20 is at its final living place at the Dutch @homecomputermuseum! Join me for this final episode of the series, where I give you a taste of museum life in the world's best home computer museum, according to the experts!
