This time of the year especially you have to be sure to look before you reach (or step). In this case it was just a harmless ribbon #snake in the #garden hose pot (maybe it thought the striped hose was its big brother?) but there are also a lot of venomous snakes around here.

Two snakes, a Garter Snake and a Northern Water Snake, are coiled inside a tree hollow at Moon River Ontario Canada.Not a fan of snakes but I found this cohabitation extremely interesting. Apparently the Garter Snakes are quite social and don't mind sharing their home.

Pucker Up Buttercup! While I am definitely not a fan of snakes this Eastern Garter Snake is a common reptile that is harmless. This Common Garter Snake was in the process of slithering over the rocks by the pond when it just stopped and sat up in the grass and looked as if it was puckering up for what I don't know. It stayed like that for a few minutes before slithering away.
