When I was about 4yo, a man in my grandmother's neighborhood, who was a bee keeper by profession, made a playground in his yard for kids to play on. It was world class - fort in a tree, rope swing, tightrope walk, other cool stuff.
A neighborhood kid who was not being well supervised by his own parents got injured, parents sued him, playground came down, man ruined.
I think about that story and lesson often.

One day, I was driving home from CA to MA, with a big boat on a trailer behind a pickup truck...

One day, I was living with a woman, and I engaged her dad, a former Marine and cop, in a discussion about the Second Amendment.
It was kind of like a modern version of an "All In The Family" episode.

It's actually part of a story of a failed relationship where I also got a lot out of the experience, no regrets.

One day recently, I was boating with friends, and the following story happened, and recalling it, I thought I'd share.

My friend takes me in his power boat out to the mooring where my boat is, I board her and get ready to leave mooring, starting the motor and letting loose from the mooring...

We are holding the small motorboats together by hand...

Earlier in my migraine journey I tried a rechargeable electrode on my forehead - a TENS unit for headache. I gamely tried it for many months with only slight improvement. I gave up when the disposable electrode sticker magnets the unit attached to were harder to get and often a bit dried out. Which I found out caused electrical arcing. On my forehead. The hard way.

One day, I was about a thousand miles from home, on my way from SFO to BOS by road, pulling a boat.
I decided I was going to make the last leg of the trip a 24hr 1000mile run. I did pull over for a nap in PA.
This was the song I listened to on that ride.

So I went out among people again today, and it can be a fun distraction from social media.
I was on a train...

One day, I was on a business trip to Santa Monica, CA, and "Terri" Myers, co-founder of QOS, handed me the keys to a Venice Beach house, and the keys to a Chrysler LeBaron convertible parked in front.
I though I had gone to geek heaven.

A girlfriend in college once said to me :
"People who I've not been close with, think I'm frigid"
"People who I have been close with, think I'm a nympho".
Something to that effect. I do miss her.

One day, back around 1987, I spent hours hand-editing a bitmap for an error message display for our product.
It was basically a Cheshire Cat, wearing a t-shirt with our company logo, with the caption :
"Sorry, a system error has occurred. Don't call us, we'll call you"
It was inspired by the notorious Apple Mac error message.
Anyway, it popped up in a demo our CEO was doing, and he explained that "our syste uses AI to detect problems" - we had a brief discussion later...
