This is amazing news as now it's official we can claim on his indemnity insurance and finally get the house build moving again! And with a builder who's not a bastard.

Bit of a mixed day so far. Opened the case for my little wireless earbuds to check battery level to find they're not in there. Which means they're probably in the washing machine or something. Grrrr.
Also been refreshing the ASIC website waiting to see if there's notice of my housebuilder being insolvent.
Think I'll get some lunch.

Who's ready for a house-building update?
We've been working with a second builder to get some progress made. He rang us a couple of days ago and said we really should go check out the site. Uh oh. We've been to see it now. The air-con equipment is gone. Our shonky builder hasn't paid the dude for installing it. So he's taken the equipment. Problem is, that wasn't the builder's asset for the installer to hold in lieu of payment. It's ours. We bought, paid and supplied it outside of contract. So the installer has stolen our property.
In all honesty I wasn't expecting to have to report tradies to the Police for theft during this build. But here we are. I doubt they can do much unless they find the unit with same serial number at the installer's place.

Yay! The old site manager for our house-build drove past our half-built fuck-up this morning and rang to say he'll quote to finish it off for us. Which makes all sorts of issues (including a lot of financial ones) go away!
And means we can start to sue current builder quite soon.
