Sigh. Very much not looking forward to some of the #ShitHackerNewsSays crowd rediscovering the hard way L. Peter Deutsch's fallacies of distributed computing:
- The network is reliable
- Latency is zero
- Bandwidth is infinite
- The network is secure
- Topology doesn't change
- There is one administrator
- Transport cost is zero
- The network is homogeneous.
I grimly appreciate that we've reached the point where arguments around config languages have devolved to comparing YAML and JSON to violence. Just like we did with XML twenty years ago.
