We saw a plume of ash erupting from Sakurajima, an active volcano, upon arriving at Sengan-en in Kagoshima in the morning. This volcano recently disrupted air travel in the region when it had an explosive eruption a few weeks ago. It seems it is back to normal now with frequent minor eruptions and ash plumes. This plume that we saw didn't last for long. For most of the day, we saw it emitting what visually looked like a bit of steam and smog.
