Update on the asking for a raise topic.
Today I bumped into the owner again, and he had reviewed my email, and agreed on the rate increase.
Nothing like listing facts I guess?
I asked Billit a (in my opinion) very simple question, on December 1st.
"Can I migrate all the information from my other accounting software in an easy manner to your software?"
It took them a frigging month to answer.
Meanwhile, I decided to just fuck it and upgrade to Zoho Books, pay the 10€/month just because it is one click plus a couple extra steps to set up the e-invoicing.
This morning I told the owner of one of the places where I teach yoga that I wanted to increase my rate by 11%. I haven't increased it since 2022 when I started teaching there, while accumulated inflation is 21%, and he has increased the prices of the gym by 21% in the same period.
His first reaction was no hell, with "you only teach once a week, while the other coaches teach more and get paid less". and then "will have to sit together with the other teacher as well to see".
I let the other teacher know I had asked for the increase, and why. And he is of a mind that "having a free subscription covers it". Well, I do not make use of it because
a) It takes 1h of my day to get there and back
2) It never gets activated by default (I have to remind gym owner every single time).
So now I sent an email with facts (including that my yoga teacher education is >900h) and will see what it happens.
I have already spoken with a gym closer to home that were interested in yoga for athletes classes & did not baulk at my standard rate.
Not me, trying to play with the big kids and completely borking my own web domain server.
This is bullshit, and I am an idiot.
A lament into the void: I run my own business and often work in #Coffeeshops & such to get out of the house.
There are few things more upsetting than getting coffee, treat, and laptop all arranged, then realizing the work just isn't going to happen 😭
