Two ways how I plan my yoga classes.

For short format classes, I scribble names & times. For long format, I stick figure sketch the whole sequence.

Planning classes does not mean I follow it to the letter, chances are I improvise on the general idea depending on who's in class and how everyone is feeling.

Sundays tasks of a yoga teacher:

- Charge the decorative lamps that I use during yoga class
- Charge the microphone I use to record yoga videos
- Schedule yoga video(s) on YouTube
- Schedule yoga video(s) on Instagram
- Schedule yoga video(s) on Facebook
- Clean out space in my phone & cloud (after making sure everything has been back-upped)
- Plan out a new sequence

Update on the asking for a raise topic.

Today I bumped into the owner again, and he had reviewed my email, and agreed on the rate increase.

Nothing like listing facts I guess?

This morning I told the owner of one of the places where I teach yoga that I wanted to increase my rate by 11%. I haven't increased it since 2022 when I started teaching there, while accumulated inflation is 21%, and he has increased the prices of the gym by 21% in the same period.

His first reaction was no hell, with "you only teach once a week, while the other coaches teach more and get paid less". and then "will have to sit together with the other teacher as well to see".

I let the other teacher know I had asked for the increase, and why. And he is of a mind that "having a free subscription covers it". Well, I do not make use of it because
a) It takes 1h of my day to get there and back
2) It never gets activated by default (I have to remind gym owner every single time).

So now I sent an email with facts (including that my yoga teacher education is >900h) and will see what it happens.

I have already spoken with a gym closer to home that were interested in yoga for athletes classes & did not baulk at my standard rate.

Yesterday I taught a yoga class at gym one. Two new (to me) students, one of them pregnant. Some adapting on the go happened.

Today I taught a yoga class at gym two. Another new (to me) student was present. At the end she commented that it was harder than she thought. She also looked forward to coming back and seeing the differences.

Today's mega crappy 7 to 5 day was completely changed by teaching yoga again.

I keep being amazed by how teaching yoga improves my mood & recharges me,

I give it my all, I demo & guide & hold space & offer modifications and options, so it's not like I am not doing anything.

It is amazing how **teaching** yoga improves my mood.

After a craptastic work day (and last week too), I went to teach today and suddenly I feel way better.

Started a new training as a yoga teacher: Mental health & well-being.

The thing I love about this particular school is that is science/research based.

The first module is diving into bio-psychology, genetics, and now I am into behavioural psychology & learning theory.

The recommended reading list includes several published research articles on neuroscience, biology & psychology.

If you thought all yoga was (incense)smoke & (pretty poses)mirrors, that is not the kind of yoga I learn about or teach about in my classes.

Today a 72 years young lady attended yoga class, and she was game: cat-cow? downward facing dog? warrior II? extended side angle? tree? yep, yep, yep! Like always, within her ability.

I really love how diverse this class at the physical therapy office is turning out to be.
