I have seen popular media citing deeper than normal warm waters (a deeper thermocline) playing a part in Hurricane Otis' rapid intensification. But I cannot find data, observations.

I've seen Karthik Balaguru of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory quoted in the Washington Post. However I don't know if they have monitoring data, happened to pass the location on a ship before the storm, or used modeling products to come up with that. I want to see the temperature profile in front of #Otis. Anyone have any leads? I'm looking for real-time observations, not climatology.
