Following the news around the #scouts #WorldJamboree I wonder: How is it still a good idea to transport 40.000 scouts around the globe while we are suffering from human induced climate change? Do those young scouts (14-18 yr) learn that there is a relation between, for example, air travelling and very hot weather and heavy rain fall? My niece is there as well, so I heard some dreadful stories about the poor organization of the Jamboree. A double loss. Hopefully they all learn a valuable lesson from this disaster. Perhaps, the scouts have to alter one of the promises in their oath, : I will do my best to protect the planet, whatever it costs me. #ClimateCrisis #ScoutOath
