While I had expected #ScottyFromMarketing to be exonorated in line with keeping the wealthy and ex-PMs imune from the full force of the law, I didn’t expect #Campbell to be as well. To say that I am dissapointed is the least of it. #RickMorton in his analysis of the final report is more scathing (he has a right to given his extensive reporting on #Robodebt) in his Crickey pice of 13Mar26:

“In her 445-page report dismissing corruption allegations against four of the six referred robodebt individuals, including the two most senior, former minister Scott Morrison and Department of Human Services secretary Kathryn Campbell, Kilgour flatly rejects the considered reasons of former Queensland Supreme Court chief justice Catherine Holmes, the royal commissioner who referred the names for further investigation.

Other institutions are, of course, entitled to disagree with the findings made by other inquiries, but the reasons given by Kilgour in many of these scenarios are risible and, to borrow one of her phrases, tax credulity. “

The NACC robodebt report: A heartbreaking work of staggering incompetence

Rick Morton wrote the book on robodebt. He delivers a damning verdict on the NACC's long-awaited robodebt report, which exonerated Scott Morrison and Kathryn Campbell.

Crikey

“The #NACC looked at whether former prime minister #ScottMorrison should have further questioned the #policy during cabinet discussions.

Mr Morrison was the #SocialServices minister when the scheme was proposed.

The report found his failure to detect misleading information was not in breach because he was expected to rely on the advice of his department.”

The fact corruption charges were not found against #ScottyFromMarketing is a good indicator of corruption in NSW Labor as well.

@BinChicken

With Scottie's level of deviousness I'm considering whether "Peter's advisors" may have been "strategically innumerate" crypto-Scottettes.

Angus Taylor resigns from Liberal frontbench ahead of expected leadership spill

Ot appears Angus Taylor's handlers have convinced him that he has the numbers to shiv Susssan Ley.

My opinion is that Angus Taylor doesn't have a strong enough grasp of mathematics to do the sums for himself — because if he did, he'd be more cautious.

One wonders if Angus Taylor has been taking advice from the same innumerate people who set-up Peter Dutton for his failed spill against Malcolm Turnbull in August 2018 that handed the party leadership and position of Prime Minister to Scott Morrison.

Live: Herzog says visit 'very emotional' as PM and Israeli president speak at parliament house

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese welcomed Israel's President Isaac Herzog to parliament, with the president calling the visit "very emotional". Follow live.

@CaringKinderSociety

Pretty much the consensus the day #ScottyFromMarketing opened his big stupid mouth on the announcement. Which makes it all the more bewildering why Labor ever took it seriously and were afraid to ridicule the idea. And so are now going to wear it until it's resolved.
Sigh.

Tony Abbott intervenes in Liberal leadership battle calling on right to unite to oust Sussan Ley

It hurts me to say this, but: Susssan Ley is right. She's recognised that if the Liberal Party is to survive, to present itself as a credible Opposition, and have more than just a dream of winning an election in the next decade, it needs to be overhauled.

Susssan Ley has a mountain of work ahead of her if she's trying to reform and modernise the Liberal Party. This comes after years that cannot be swept under the carpet, and memories that stretch back so far in people's minds that we have a clear picture of what is "normal" for the Liberal Party. Some people like Tony Abbott want that "tradition" that he was part of and benefited from to persist, and for the rest of us to forget the aspects that were terrible for most people in Australia.

But, who can forget the lies and racism and RWNJ extremism resembling Nazism of the Malignant Potato Peter Dutton, the lies and racism and self-serving religious quackery of the Liar from the Shire Scott Morrison, the lies and racism and outrageous sexism and anti-intellectualism and cruelty disguised as boofheadedness of The Mad Monk Tony Abbott, the lies and racism and nonsensical neo-con ideology of Malcolm Turnbull, and the lies and racism and mean-spirited divide-and-conquer class-warfare of John Howard?

Tony Abbott intervenes in Liberal leadership battle

Former prime minister Tony Abbott has intervened in the Liberal leadership race, urging conservatives to unite behind either Angus Taylor or Andrew Hastie in their bid to oust Sussan Ley from the top job.

#Rapture today woo hoo... Has #ScottyFromMarketing flown up to heaven yet?

@ai6yr

Well, if it is good enough for our former Australian lPrime Minister
