The inability of successive UK governments to spell out any conditions of another vote is both horrifying and completely unsurprising from this sham democratic union. Our elected national parliament is made a mockery of every time a FM makes these requests and a PM ignores them. And there have been many now. This is an abusive relationship with no way out, we are a being treated as yet another colony of the crown, and the people are suffering as a result Do you think that Starmer gives a fuck about Methil? Do you think Farage gives two hoots about Selkirk?! Or Caol, or Ness, or Dundee, or Raploch? Do you think anyone in the cabinet give a shit about fuel poverty in the richest renewable energy country in the world? Or concentrated land ownership that doesn’t pay it’s way? Or our EU links which empowered small businesses and drove our cultural happenings? Swinney is correct to yet again ask. But we know what the answer will be. When will we, the people of Scotland, be respected?

@alanferrier Wish we'd gone indy. We'd still have a bunch of political problems to deal with but at least we wouldn't have to also cope with those of our nearest neighbouring country as well.

I always find it funny (if a little frustrating) when someone comes out with something along the lines of,
"That [country/state] can't secede from [union of some sort]. Because [said union] doesn't have a mechanism for that."
It betrays both a lack of imagination and deficit in knowledge of history.
Also, humans *invented* these concepts. They are not set in stone. (And even if they were we have invented many ways of changing stone to our needs).
