NBC Sports is going to rebrand this winter during Super Bowl, and this includes new score bug for NFL, and it’s going to be similar to one you’re seeing right now. It’ll be based on their college sports coverage.

And for those wondering, NEW GRAPHICS for ESPN.

ESPN did modify their SEC on ABC graphics for the playoffs, and after feedbacks, they decided to have the score bug take up the entire bottom of the screen.

This will be the graphic moving forward starting next season.

okay, it’s been a year, but I CANNOT comprehend the scorebug design NBC decided to use for their college sports.

it’s close to what they have for SNF, but it’s all square and blocky. Feels way too generic.

And here’s new graphics for ESPN’s NFL coverage.

They took lot of graphic elements from College Football and previous NFL graphics, and added lot of neons to make it easier to read on larger 4K TV.

Minor tweaks to some extent, but it’s much better for the TV.

y'all know what I wanna see? a progress bar #pitchclock! Simple, unobtrusive, easy to fit in the existing #scorebug designs. You could even put stuff inside it like the inning or pitch count! And you could also have two if you wanted pitcher and batter clocks.

maybe make it a diamond shape like the baseball zen bits?

either way this sport has enough numbers on screen at all times, and here the precise number doesn't really matter as much as the feeling of whether they're running down the clock or not.

*anything* but the gigantic, poorly cropped PIP of the live pitch clock board 😭 lookin at you Bally sports, owner of the worst existing score bug of them all.
