Woohoo, some good enviro news! Minister for Environment to reject proposal to develop the Toondah Harvour deelopment. These wetlands are Ramsar-listed, and to be honest it's a bit of a travesty that it took 8 years for it to be knocked back.

Have your say on Walker Corporation’s proposal to build thousands of apartments and a marina right on top of globally significant wetlands. Walker’s draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) closes for public comment tonight, and soon the Minister for the Environment will decide Toondah Harbour’s fate.
These irreplaceable wetlands are one of Australia’s 66 Ramsar sites and a safe haven for threatened migratory shorebirds. If this project goes ahead, no Ramsar site is safe.

Koala near Toondah Harbour today. This is Callie. She is less than 300 metres from the mangroves that Walker Group plans to destroy as part of their plan to build 3,600 dwellings in Moreton Bay's wetlands. #koala #savetoondahharbour #Queensland
