Per fire management, the fire had no, to little growth overnight. Firefighters have increased their containment to 40%. We will receive an updated fire size after a multi-mission aircraft flyover. There are 60 firefighters working on the fire this morning. #SunshineWildlandFire

Foothills fire forces hundreds to evacuate; containment at 25%

A wildfire that started as a structure fire in Sunshine Canyon has forced evacuations in the Boulder County foothills.

So it looks like there is still an evacuation order (below) and only 25% containment from what I see on OEM and the bad place. We don’t need another #BoulderFire. The lack of communication is disturbing. I don’t know if I’m not a proper mastodonite but I’m not finding the level of information and connection we had before

"We do not anticipate lifting the mandatory evacuation order or road closures for the #SunshineWildlandFire overnight. Currently, an estimated 457 residents remain evacuated from 167 homes. Firefighters remain on the scene fighting the fire. #SushineWildlandfire estimated at 25% contained. Approx. 200 personnel have been assisting with the fire & will remain on scene as they work toward increasing containment numbers. Winds forecast to diminish into the evening. Changes to evacuations & road closures updated soon.

The city of Boulder has issued an all clear for evacuations related to the #SanitasFire. The area of west Boulder between Linden and University is now on normal status.
