I've often thought that it would be interesting to knit carbon fiber hulls for modern trimarans, naturally with the new recyclable resins, rather than layer fiberglass weave over a form.

Being able to do this with the knowledge of stresses from this research might make this a viable approach, perhaps when combined with some of the techniques of #3DPrinting?
