We are so excited to announce the newest Japan-based signatory to Punks Against Apartheid, Solution A!

Ever since our community started growing in Japan, something special happened: the connection just 'clicked'. Our comrades there have been so energetic, so intent on globalising the struggle and expanding their campaigns beyond the confines of their local region that you have probably seen more than one post on PAA's pages about Palestine solidarity in Japan, like the #SMASHTHEMATCH campaign that helped to formally END the Aichi-Israel Program!

We are so happy that our community there continues to grow and can't wait to see what else Japan has in store for us as the country takes a further right-wing, xenophobic turn and our organising for liberation becomes even more important.

We hope other members & regions can feel inspired by the example of our friends in Japan, which shows that PAA is what you make of it! We build our campaigns according to our voting members' wishes and the needs of regional affinity groups, so if you want to join that growing global voice of punks calling for FULL decolonisation and an END to the Zionist settler entity, JOIN US NOW!!!

日本でのコミュニティが成長し始めて以来、特別なことが起こりました。繋がりが「カチッ」とはまったのです。PAAの仲間たちは非常に精力的で、闘争をグローバル化し、地域を越えてキャンペーンを拡大することに熱心に取り組んでいます。PAAのページで、日本におけるパレスチナ連帯に関する投稿を何度も目にした方もいるでしょう。例えば、愛知・イスラエル・プログラムの正式な終了につながった#SMASHTHEMATCHキャンペーンなどです。

PAAのコミュニティが成長を続けていることを大変嬉しく思っており、日本がさらに右翼化、外国人排斥主義的な方向へ傾き、解放のための私たちの組織活動がますます重要になる中で、今後何が待ち受けているのか、待ちきれません。

🇵🇸🎴 #STOPFANUCNOW #FUCKOFF_FANUC Instagram Comment Blast Action! 🎴🇵🇸

In coordination with the campaign to pressure the BDS-violating FANUC corporation (headquartered in Japan), we are joining hands with our global community to escalate pressure on the robot manufacturer which works with genocidal companies like Elbit Systems.

Just like our campaign to #SMASHTHEMATCH that successfully CANCELLED the Aichi-Israel Matching Program, we will be regularly sharing targets for folks related to FANUC in the coming months. While we continue to share other actions to make sure that the Aichi Program cancellation actually happens, we ask that our community follow the example of that successful campaign with #FUCKOFF_FANUC and help us to make sure that their PR/social media/online presence is completely unusable until they cease supporting genocide.

We know what works: on the ground disruption of the supply chain, with online/international supporters coming in to support that grassroots action. If we can keep up the pressure externally, it will help our comrades in Japan and around the world to narrow the field of possibility for these unethical businesses, and weaken their negotiating position in the face of a strong peoples’ movement.

Just like with Maersk, Elbit, and Aichi, we must permanently associate ‘FANUC’ in the mind of the general public with death, destruction, and genocide. NO free space should be ceded to these genocidal companies while we continue to build pressure on the ground! JOIN US & FREE PALESTINE!!

💥HUGE BDS WIN FOR JAPAN!💥Aichi Prefecture announces the END to the Aichi-Israel Matching Program between Japanese manufacturers and Isrli tech startups! After 2+ years of local organizing and 18 weeks of relentless international campaigning, Palestine Solidarity organizers in Japan @think4olive @hiroshima_palestine_vigil @bdsjapanbulletin @takeshi_evolstak @punksagainstapartheid have successfully been able to #SMASHTHEMATCH! This is a slam dunk for Japan’s hardworking BDS movement, which leveraged on-the-ground people power and a cross-border, grassroots virtual campaign to pressure the Aichi government to cancel this genocidal military technology exchange. Congratulations and AROGATOU GOZAIMASU to every person and group worldwide that signed petitions, wrote emails, and persistently left comments on Aichi’s social media demanding an end to the program and divestment from Isrli apartheid. We won’t stop until Isrl is abolished completely! More updates coming soon!
