The daily teapot seemed okay when I dropped it in the sink yesterday, but it got a hairline crack near the base, and this morning it's leaving a puddle of tea on the counter. Rats.

Morning rain has cleared, I've made good progress with the garden, I could use a break, and a broken seto-mono is a good excuse for a visit to Seto. Into the bargain, my fave tonkatsu shop is open today, and I should be able to catch them for lunch.

📷 My photo app just reminded me that today, 10 years ago, I spent a Sunday wandering around Nagoya (with my then-PhD student, Adrián).

We started at Osu Kannon Temple—a must if you're in Nagoya. Then we headed to the harbor area. I didn't expect anything special; it was just one of the few parts of the city I still hadn't seen… but it totally delivered.

But... watch out for tsunamis 😅
