Here are two articles on #reading that deserve to be re-tooted not just boosted:

Personally, I read a lot, just not #books.

I'm on the Net everyday reading articles like these (and others), as well as news published by the #NYT, the #SFChronical & #SFGate, as well as those published by other smaller independent news agencies in SF, like #MissionLocal, #SFist and #The Voice but, while I still buy them, I seldom take the time to read books lately.

Why? I'm not sure but spending time on the Net has a lot to do with it because when I read a book, it's usually while listing to #music out of my #vinyl or #CD collection, which I also haven't been doing much lately.

So, I think it's time to start listening to music & reading books again.

From RIF to Ridicule: What Happened to Celebrating Reading?

When I was a kid, there was a program called RIF—Reading Is FUNdamental. And yes, they emphasized the “fun” just like that. There were posters in the library and little paper bookmarks. The message…

The SF #LEGO Store unexpectedly closing is hitting me extra hard. 🧱 It was always fun to visit and the employees were so nice.

I also didn't realize that it had only been open since 2016? Pretty sure that was the first year my young son and I started going to participate in the monthly events there! Such a special time for both of us.

Hopefully they have plans to reopen somewhere else in San Francisco soon...

More Westfield Mall Woes, as SF’s Only LEGO Store There Has Closed Permanently

Things apparently weren't connecting anymore in San Francisco’s only LEGO store, located in the beleaguered mall formerly known as the Westfield San Francisco Centre, as that LEGO store quietly closed permanently last week.

Today I paid for the news I receive from Mission Local. @MLNow

There were two things that inspired me. First, in the coverage of Bob Lee's murder, they included a list of the other people murdered this year in San Francisco, with an infographic.

Second, reviewing the perception that San Francisco crime is out of control, they mentioned the recent "abrupt closure of the mid-market Whole Foods, leaving San Franciscans just eight other Whole Foods within city limits". Always appreciate snark.

This kind of micro-local journalism didn't exist before the Internet, and it behooves us to support it.
