A GoFundMe was setup for Ryan Hinton's family, the 18 year old cops killed last week.

It still hasn't hit it's modest $10k goal yet.

They haven't posted an update on the jailing of Ryan's father or his alleged role in killing a cop in revenge. But its clear this family will be needing support to any semblance of justice or fair investigation of Ryan's death.

Among Black people online Rodney Hinton, the Black father who killed a cop to avenge the death of his son, has already taken on Saint status and is rapidly being compared to Luigi.

One thing that needs pointing out is that the Cincinnati police released heavily edited footage to the public of Ryan Hinton's murder at the hands of police.

If you watch the footage released in the police press conference or on the news this particular frame is edited out. But if you go directly to the BWV source you can see that Ryan Hinton was CLEARLY gunned down for little to no reason.

He never points a gun at officers, he only ran and was shot in the back.

Rodney Hinton was back in court yesterday to enter a plea and possibly seek bail.

In parallel's to Luigi Mangione, cops showed up in comically overwhelming force at his first court appearance.

Every step Rodeny makes in court is within INCHES of a snearing pig with a gun.

Early Tuesday morning a local journalist tweeted the last pick saying:

"Officers are now packing the courtroom in support of their fallen brother in blue."

Not many new deals but you can hear their case taking shape.

From the start on Tuesday cops were there in force.

As Rodney Hinton was brought into the court room his brother quietly knocked on the glass.

He wanted to ask sit with his brother in court.

But before the judge could address the situation he was swarmed by cops who had earlier packed the court room.

The image a Black man quitely asking for a judges attention, only to get immediately dog piled by cops isn't sitting right with the internet this morning.

As Rodney's brother was guided from court he pleaded with the cops to not throw him out.

He says, he only wanted his brother to see him.

The cops kicked him out, and carried on the hearing.

At the hearing Rodney entered a not guilty plea.

the judge opened the floor to the cops to argue if Rodney should be allowed bond.

The cops say that Rodney was immediately angry once they showed him the killing of his son at the hands of a Cincinnati cop.

The cops claimed that Rodney was so mentally unwell after seeing the murder video that they were worried about his ability to drive.

Cops claim this makes it premeditated and Rodney too dangerous to get bond.

Judge agreed, bond denied.

Now where things get interesting is that Rodney's lawyer did not object to the no bond ruling. He just wanted to make sure Rodney could get mental health services.

After the hearing he said:

"Not disappointed in no bond," Bennett told WLWT's Giacomo Luca after the hearing. "I believe my client was mentally ill at the time of the offense. I want him to get treatment. A no bond is appropriate, because he should not be released, he should be evaluated and treated."

So it would seem Rodney's lawyer is leaning hard into the temporary insanity defense.

Given the history of blatantly unnecessary killings of Black teenagers in Cincinnati and Ohio alone, to speak nothing of the nation wide history, it is somewhat refreshing to see Rodney's obviously destroyed emotional state taking center stage.

The cops killed his son, unnecessarily, and it would be a statistical outlier if the cops are held accountable.

In 2001 when Rodney Hinton was around 14yo police killed a teenager, Timothy Thomas, under very similar circumstances to how his son Ryan would die 24 years later.

The cop, Stephen Roach, killed Timothy for running from cops who tried to arrest him over traffic tickets. None of Timothy's charges were more sever than non-violent misdemeanors and traffic citations.

Timothy Thomas was unarmed at the time of his death and was only fleeing cops when they killed him.

Over the previous 5 years the cops had killed FIFTEEN Black crime suspects in similar situations.

Meanwhile the cops killed ZERO white suspects under similar chases, despite the white population and incidents being significantly higher. It did not matter if the White suspects were armed or unarmed.

Back in 2022 Jayland Walker was shot more than SIXTY times by cops during a police chase in a show of excessive force that would be at home in the IDF. Jayland was running from the cops but intentionally left his gun in the car and was unarmed at the time of his murder.

The many angles of body cam video clearly showed that Jayland was unarmed, running away.

The cops can be seen continuing to shoot long after Jayland falls dead.

So with that local context in mind, I find it hard to believe that the mental and emotional state of Rodney Hinton wouldn't have played a roll.

In these cases the courts want us to think ONLY of the original murderous cop's feelings of "fear".

But when the tables are turned, and justice is almost certain to be the next victim the state will say Rodney was "premeditated".

When really... we have a word for this, its called trauma. Trauma from a slowmotion genocide.

So if we listen again to the friend of Rodney's who was thrown out of court for trying to show his friend some love he mentions that this isn't the first time this type of killing has happend and that its not the first time that he and Rodney have been harassed be the same police department.

With all this context of a violent and dangerous police culture in mind, it's VERY fucked that many cops were allowed to attend in uniform and with weapons. Ready to jump on people.
