we are in the #Scotland #ScottishHighlands scottish rainforest now and look at the ferns on this #oak #quercus #robur #EnglishOak
Scotish rainforest is western side of scottish highlands where the atlantic ocean drops all its rain when meeting the mountains. This is near #LochNess

I'm going to switch this to english @littlealex as I know we all speak that language, even tho mastodonUY added translation lately to the instance.

I really do like this idea and if @santiago finds it interesting too I'm absolutely on to it, but consider we should than plan this as open source as a possible and as "hacking event" as possible.

Even tho this is not really something for the tierranietos project and should be more likely represented by "the" @bitpickup I'm going to enter this in my mind evolving idea from over here as the character limit of this instance is favorable for that.

I "know" Santiago from the fedi "since ever" LittleAlex, right now he is hosting the mastodonUY instance from home, inside info you might find in the @admin profile. As for what I have seen in his publications out here he is related to the UdelaR (Universität der Republik), hacks all kind of things, being it radio, old stuff or rainwater when the provider runs out of support to drink at least mate and even engages in teaching sessions in his community and surroundings. @[email protected] actually still has promised to bring him over old laptops from over a decade, more like an IBM museum of the T'series but being out here in the middle of nowhere that's a lot of km to travel so for now this is not much more than a promise from my side.

The idea itself is switching in my mind to a true little project to promote the goals we have in common and even tho I'm not sure if Santiago would like this idea I think we really should do something with it. I'm not aware if with mastodonUY they created some sort of COOP (Verein/club/ONG) or are wondering about it but if we really take this serious the best thing to get the old original east german firefighter vehicle over here officially some kind of "donation" to a ONG would be the real thing. More if we set it up as some kind of international cyberwehr hack, promoting the fediverse, the CCC, #cybercirujas "and all the rest".

To do this "well" we definitely should not "break this over the knee" as we say in german but consider making some real project even together with some CCC event in my opinion. To ship something like this over here, the cost's are per square meter, so in terms of expenses if that truck comes over as is or full of recycled equipment, equipment to recycle, some kind of portable equipment recycling station sponsored by the CCC, THW, german embassy (or what ever) this really could work, draw attention on the fedi and our goals, create connections and who knows even end up with some vacation projects to bring connectivity and hacking to uruguayen or south american inside country schools (escuelas rurales).

Actually there were #ROBUR donations to #Uruguay from the german government when the reunification happened, I remember some UTE employees asking me once to translate them the manual of "these german trucks"and once a donated portable bridge came down if I remember well.

So, there is even background story, enough for some "fairy tales", something this country really loves.

Lately Santiago gave an interview to the weekly TAZ/ZEIT newspaper over here about the fedi, @Peludo was involved in that I guess.

Point is, even this robur would fit nice on tierranietos, but as a common 4x4 truck, this vehicle, and in particular because of it's past and your interest in maintaining the idea of being of service for the community, would in any case fit into what I'm talking about.
In any case tierranietos could become "last resort" or inside country station for the cyberwehr when ever the projects stops being executed.
Just bringing the vehicle over, abandoning it at tierranietos would open the option to get the paper work done after a year, but that's really not the point.

I'd really like to foster the idea of some sort of invention/combination of cyberwehr, THW, "freiwillige Feuerwehr" (something not existing over here), the ceibalita/OLPC concept.

Planning this and putting hands on over there in D and than over here this could be real fun, interesting and teaching. Obviously even a trailer or interchangeable boxes come to mind. Some patreon/goFund me CCC event hacking construction.

en fin ..
I'd be at full disposition for something like this in terms of translation, connecting, creating, "dar la cara", if there is interest in this as a some international internet project.

For myself I have way to many "real life" things to solve as to be able to promise things besides what I can do via internet, telecommunication, being part of some ONG and/or hopping around in my immediate vicinity.

If you guys would be into this, @bc1qsms8738rtur8akqmf9nfadqf80quxxva04gqp7
is offering "full support" and participation.
