Czech playwright Karel Čapek wrote the 1920 play Rossum’s Universal Robots, the origin of the term robot. He based it upon the word for forced labor. A lot of early sci-fi tries to emulate the Slavic pronunciation. Rod Serling talked about ro-bits in a lot of the original Twilight Zone episodes, among others. I have owned many Robot Vacuums over the years. At least three #iRobotRoomba and then I started experimenting with the many found on Amazon. I have had a #Robit and #Goovi most recently which appear to be using all the same parts since the remote and extra brushes are all interchangeable. My early experience with iRobot was not good. Most stopped working properly after a year. The two generic from Amazon I have had for multiple years. Has Roomba improved to cost so much still?
