Thank you, AuDHD. I have several years until my Social Security Disability Income comes up for review, since I'm not yet of the age to exit the program and become truly retired.
But my lovely brain has decided, day and night, it's time to script it up and consider all the possibilities, including what will happen if I am (incorrectly) judged suitable for the job market.

Today, I took the extra step to write to the editor to tell him that I disagreed with #Reviewer2. The argument was IMO flawed, and I found it unfair that the person could just suggest the authors re-do the analysis with some statistical methods to make it "more novel." I'm not sure if I overstepped my role in the process, but I felt I had to say something.
At Ecological Solutions and Evidence (a journal from the @BritishEcolSoc), we have an extra step where reviewers can see all reviews and comment on their issues with them or maybe changes of mind. It's great because it gives you another perspective of your assessment and the work, at the same time helping authors and editors.
