Just fyi, if you've one of these #ReinerSCT card readers that once were cheaply available as an add-on in computerbild magazines when the #eID first released here in Germany
They've a firmware update since 2021. You should install it as they do not update the old driver anymore and the new driver only works with the new firmware.
If you never updated the firmware before just look at the underside of the device. If it says "Plug & Play Version for all OS" you've already the new one.

Man will nun mal nicht, dass das Client-Zertifikat für den Zugang zum ELSTER Onlineportal des Online-Finanzamt nicht auf mehreren Client-Rechnern herum geistert, sondern nur der- bzw. diejenige Zugriff bekommt, die Zugriff auf beide Faktoren hat, also dem Kryptostick mit dem darauf befindlichen Zertifikat und dem Zugangspassort für das Entsperren des USB-Sticks.
