Short Selling is selling something you don't actually own, its a bit like #fraud and comes under the banner of #financialisation. It's built around being destructive rather than productive.

@nickcook Yes, #bakkt is going to have to answer some detailed questions about their account handling and avoiding #fractional or #rehypothecation scenarios. If they can pass that test, then I'd be happy to see them issue #bitcoin settled products.
@jon I read #caitlinlong 's post and see the point about #rehypothecation and #fractional games. #bakkt will have to disclose these policies anyway, so its up to them to stick with their stance of transparency, or just become another #wallstreet shell game. I'll keep an eye on that, thanks.
