Reading Plan 2026

It’s my favorite time of year – planning season! I’ve put together my 2026 Reading Plan and I am pretty excited for the upcoming year. A couple things to mention: I am a big fan o…

A couple of years ago I went through the same thing Karen has and had the same response: I gave up most of the challenges that required me to read specific books and just read what I wanted to, when I wanted to. That approach has worked out well for her, as it did for me.

#readingplan

Despite the stack of unread books I’ve accumulated, along with the wishlist of ebooks I haven’t yet purchased, I don’t have a specific plan of what and when I will read. The exception is when I have a specific goal in mind, or books my book club demands I read. 😉 Otherwise there are topics that interest me, and books that come along in those areas will make it onto the mental list I keep.

You’re blog is getting added, btw.😁

I’ve written up some thoughts from my small corner of the room about the process of putting together and posting publicly a list of books I plan to read. As a retired prof, spending time alone with books, I’ve found it very helpful - in some ways like and in other ways unlike my earlier practice of putting course syllabi together. I’m interested in what others think about the process. Do you find it helpful to have a #ReadingPlan?
