Getting these logic chips out is a huge PIA.
Took me about an hour for one, because the corrosion makes them impervious to a soldering iron.🙄
Also had to clean up the pads, otherwise resoldering is nearly impossible.

De-rusted the case, replaced the large caps, replaced the fan.

I decided against an eyelet repair on the A2000 psu after all. One because there was no eyelet/via originally, and two because I found these handy clip-on caps that lock themselves into place and provide stability.

Repairing the A2000 psu and giving it a new fan. I'm still waiting for a shipment from Digikey with all the replacement caps.
It might be a premature investment, but I want to think of a positive outcome.

Finally got that darn CPU accelerator edge connector out.
It was hard as hell, but a good decision as there's corrosion under it.
On the downside, I'll probably have to soak it in vinegar as I recently learned from @A3rgan on the Musksite.

I know it's risky to replace these connectors without even knowing if the board will ever run again, but it's all I can do while I wait for the CPU socket to arrive.

I completely disassembled the #Amiga2000 psu.
It's got rust all over and the fan is toast. Luckily there's a video by @janbeta on how to put a Noctua fan inside.
A wide trace has lifted from the caps, so I'm thinking eyelet repair rather than giant solder blob.

For holding parts in place while soldering, I use Blu Tack putty.
It's works great and is reusable.

First try with #EvapoRust on the #RatMiga and the result looks great to me.
Not sure if I would use it if I didn't intend to repaint it anyway, as it seems to have an effect on the inside foggy paint.

I got the tip from Chris Edwards that the sprint layouts of the #Amiga2000 mainboard are available on #github.
With the #SprintLayout software in test mode you can see which line should go where.
