@ivan i've been having a discussion about this across nixos-hardware and nixos-on-arm matrix channels.
The bottom line is, as long as we're not talking about the pi5, nixos should work without the additional nixos-hardware stuff. You only need a vendored kernel as long as it has stuff that hasnt been mainlined yet.
