Last night, I sat down to work on my late mother-in-law’s bumblebee/honey bee quilt. The blocks she made were wonky on purpose and I could not even contemplate cutting wonky strips. I stacked up all the fabric, sorted into piles: her fabric - must use, my fabric I- goes well with hers, or my fabric - doesn’t fit wrong value/hue/color. My mother-in-law was working on a quilt for her bed before she passed in March. This weekend, I found her project bag and was able to bring it home. Her blocks are 10 inches or so, sewn to a muslin square. It will take me a while but I hope to finish her quilt too before next March.
