After reading the #NYRB "Shithole Cinema" article (paywalled) a couple of months ago, I was looking forward to #RaduJude's "Kontinental '25". It is now on #BFIPlayer and doesn't disappoint. The disturbing collision between self-regard and real events, and the multiple ways to seek to use others to assuage guilt. After viewing the film, David Ehrlich 's IndieWire review added more appreciation.

Il y a bien de l’IA dans le Dracula de Radu Jude, mais pas dans le récit (contrairement à ce que prétend le scénario, le récit sarcastique est parfaitement maîtrisé) mais dans les images. La pire des IA, avec Radu Jude qui ricane et dénonce violemment, des images d’IA dégueulasses, abominables, qui s’articulent à de vraies de vraies, souvent miteuses, ou brechtiennes, on peut dire, c’est ça qui tisse le film, de variation en variation…
