Local officials in Torkham have told Radio Hurriyet that the Torkham gate was reopened this morning at seven o'clock for returnees.

The gate had been closed for four days for Eid al-Fitr holidays.

It is worth noting that the Torkham and Spin Boldak routes are generally open for travelers, but these and all other routes are linked to Pakistan for trade and transit.

The Kabul Police Command's spokesperson told Radio Hurriyet that the son of Allahgul Mujahid, a member of the National Assembly during the previous government, was killed in an armed attack near the Saray-e-Shazada hotel in Kabul city.

Command spokesperson Khalid Zadran added that the incident occurred around 2:00 PM today.

According to him, two civilians, along with Allahgul’s bodyguard and a woman, were also killed in the attack.

Mr. Zadran also stated that initial investigations suggest the incident was due to a personal feud, and two people have been arrested in connection with it.

He added that an investigation is underway.

Six People Arrested on Suspicion of Theft in Nangarhar

The Nangarhar Provincial Police Command states that six people have been arrested on suspicion of theft in connection with incidents within the jurisdiction of the fifth police district in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital.

Spokesman for the command, Syed Taib Hamad, told Radio Hurriyet that the individuals had been entering homes and committing thefts in various parts of the city.

He added that the suspects were arrested by police while attempting to rob a house.

Hamad stated that a rifle, a jamming device, and several stolen items were seized from the arrested individuals.

According to him, the arrested individuals have confessed to their crimes and will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities after initial investigations.

The Ministry of Rural Development and Agriculture has announced that more than 500 development projects were completed in the country during the past solar year 1404.

Officials from the ministry told Radio Hurriyet that over one billion Afghanis and more than $500,000 were spent on these projects.

According to the information, these projects include water supply networks, roads, deep wells, retaining walls, and the construction of check dams in fourteen provinces.

It is said that tens of thousands of families have benefited from these projects and their problems have been resolved in various areas.

The Agency for Preparedness and Response to Natural Disasters has stated that during the past three months – August, September, and October – assistance in the form of cash, food, and non-food items has been provided to 229,759 families.

Agency spokesperson Qari Muhammadyusuf Hamad told Radio Hurriyet that during this period, nearly 109,000 families received food and non-food items, and 120,000 families received cash assistance.

Hamad put the total value of these aid deliveries at 483 million Afghanis.

These aid deliveries come at a time when assistance from government institutions to orphaned and displaced families has accelerated, and aid is being distributed to dozens of families every day in various provinces.

The spokesperson for the Nangahar Security Command, Syed Taib Hamad, told Radio Hurriyet that two children were killed and five others injured when the roof of a house collapsed in a village under the jurisdiction of the eighth district of Jalalabad city last night, and the condition of one of the injured is critical.

Hamad said that a person was killed and another injured in an incident where a poultry farm collapsed due to last night’s rain in the Surkhmer area under the jurisdiction of Behsud district.

Additionally, crops planted on 534 jeribs of land have been destroyed in the districts of Bati Kot, Mumandare, Chaparhar, Goshtai, Kot and Rudat.

Meanwhile, 400 jeribs of agricultural land in the Pichiragam district are threatened with destruction due to the collapse of a canal, and in the Hesar Khel district, floods have destroyed ten small dams.

At the same time, the Deputy Governor of Nangahar chaired a meeting with officials from government agencies and aid organizations to prepare emergency assistance for affected and displaced families.
