I really don’t like #Proxmox. Or, more to the point, it doesn’t like me and the old #Poweredge #R710 I decided to repower & repurpose. Segfault after segfault. Gave up and just installed #Fedora + #libvert + #lxc. Just no fancy web GUI to administer. But it works a treat! #homelab
This is mostly for my own personal documentation use but I thought I'd share how awesome an old @Dell #PowerEdge #R710 server can be, even today when running @openSUSE #Tumbleweed as my server OS. There are good reason for using it too, more in the future on that.

@marco thanks for the tip! My #r710 is off these days because of power consumption and noise.

@jan204re yes that’s soo good.

As I‘m having also a used rackserver from #AirBerlin Dell #Poweredge #r710, which sounds like a jet engine and consumes the entire power of my village, I‘m quite happy with the small #Futro 😂 this can finally really run 24/7.

It appears we can still find Dell GP347 1x PCI-E x16 Riser Board 2, for Dell #R710 ... in 2021!
