There's no need for them.

Simple.

Boost the toot to amplify.
Reply to add your opinion.

All quote tweeting does is making the conversation your own, most often to express your disagreement with the original post. That kind of negativity is not needed here.

Does someone—anyone—have a compelling case for how a rendered link within a malicious post makes that post significantly more malign than an unrendered link? I find it hard to believe that it isn’t the content of the quoting post and the followers of the poster that count. #QuoteRT

The Case against #QuoteRT:
Das gibt es hier auf #Mastodon aus gutem Grund nicht, denn es ist zu nichts nütze, außer Eskalation. Entweder bin ich mit etwas d'accord, dann kann ich es unkommentiert boosten, oder ich möchte wiedersprechen. Dann verhelfe ich dem Mist durch meinen Widerspruch trotzdem nur zu mehr Sichtbarkeit. Solche Erregungsspiralen können mMn gut auf Twitter bleiben.
