Netflix’s The Summer Hikaru Died (TSHD) and Apple TV’s Pluribus both have “Body Snatcher” type plot lines: an entity has access to all your loved one’s memories, is inhabiting a body that isn’t their own, and is fixated on being close to you.
They’re also both deeply sad shows about gay loss.

I have other fave shows that have queer characters but the queer representation isn’t really the thing that I like (Andor, Killjoys, Black Sails, Warrior Nun, The Dragon Prince, See, Perry Mason, Death and Other Details, Glow)
The series explored themes like bodily autonomy, trauma, identity, and found family — long before these topics were mainstream in genre TV.
